This course provides an overview of the roles and responsibilities of public servants in processing access to information and privacy (ATIP) requests, how to process access to information and privacy requests and an overview of privacy breaches.

• The spirit of the ATI and Privacy act;
• Terminology related to ATI and Privacy;
• Their requirement under both acts and the duty to assist the requester;
• The consequences of not complying with the Act;
• The deadlines and processes related to retrieving records and providing justifications;
• Best practices on how to handle tasking requests.
