Description

This course introduces core privacy principles and key Canadian legislation, including the Privacy Act. Learners will develop practical skills to safeguard personal information, identify privacy risks, manage privacy breaches, and apply Privacy by Design in their day-to-day work.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

• Explain core privacy principles and the requirements of key Canadian legislation, including the Privacy Act;
• Identify and assess privacy risks in workplace activities;
• Apply appropriate measures to safeguard personal information throughout its lifecycle;
• Respond effectively to privacy breaches, including containment and mitigation actions;
• Integrate Privacy by Design principles into day-to-day work practices and decision-making.
