Description
In this session, participants will gain an understanding of the Bystander Effect and the role we play as bystanders. Participants will explore strategies for effective bystander intervention and learn how to overcome common barriers to taking action.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
- Understand the Bystander Effect and our role as bystanders, recognizing the psychological and social factors that influence bystander behaviour.
- Apply the five (5) steps of bystander intervention and effective communication strategies to intervene safely and effectively in various situations.
- Identify common barriers to intervention and develop strategies to overcome them, increasing confidence and the ability to act as responsible bystanders.
