Description

The PM&D Operating Guide is updated annually to reflect changes impacting the SSC project management function. The 8th Edition of the Guide includes minor updates informed by continuous improvement initiatives, departmental stakeholder engagement, and improved document accessibility and useability.

The forums last 1.5 hours in each Official Language and occur on the same day (French in the morning and English in the afternoon).

Objectives

This presentation will guide participants through:

• An overview of the Operating Guide context, annual process and sources of input

• A summary of key changes in the 8th edition, including the source of the change and the impact within the Guide

• An overview of PMCoE’s work on internal policy instruments and the proposed update to the 2014 SSC Project Management Directive Version 2.0

• A schedule that demonstrates key milestones since the annual review began in in Q2 FY2023-24

• An overview of improvements to the interactive PGoF on the PMCoE SharePoint portal

• Focus areas for the 9th edition of the Guide

• Next steps to finalize the 8th edition and begin preparation for the 9th edition cycle

The presentation will be followed by an open conversation on the same topic.

The SSC Project Management (PM) Community at large.

The SSC’s PM Community includes (but is not limited to): Project Sponsors, Directors, Project Managers, Project Team Members, Project Support Office (PSO), Project Support Staff, Project Review and Oversight (PRO) Leads and anyone involved with a project at SSC.

Notes
The PM Forums have a maximum value of 1.5 professional development units (PDU) with PMI and AXELOS. The precise value will depend on the length of each forum.
